Qualifications

Responsibilities

Contract Duration: Approximately 12 Months (Possible extension)

Hours: 40 hours/week

We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to develop hardware designs and technical documentation supporting plant modifications and nuclear component design. This role requires experience developing and implementing first-of-a-kind (FOAK) hardware designs and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, modify, and update 3D models and 2D engineering drawings.
• Perform engineering analysis and create specifications supporting hardware development.
• Collaborate with tooling and analysis teams to meet nuclear quality and safety standards.
• Communicate design challenges, schedules, and progress to field deployment, engineering, and project management teams.
• Present designs during peer and leadership reviews and incorporate feedback.
• Develop technical documentation throughout design, procurement, and fabrication.
• Document and verify final designs against application requirements and applicable nuclear and ASME codes and standards.
• Provide fabrication support throughout hardware development.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.

• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience supporting fabrication.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of ASME codes.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) modeling experience.
