Job summary

RQ Construction LLC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead HVAC and plumbing design for projects nationwide from our Jacksonville, Florida office. The role focuses on delivering compliant, sustainable design with BIM integration and a strong DoD project background.

The position offers a flexible hybrid schedule, 401(k) matching, and a salary range of $135,000–$155,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (HVAC/Plumbing focus)
• P.E. license required
• 10+ years HVAC/Plumbing design exp in consulting
• LEED AP preferred
• Experience with ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1, 55
• Experience with California Title 24 Energy Code
• BIM and Revit/AutoCAD experience required
• Sustainable design experience
• Design Build or other delivery methods desirable
• Government/DOD project experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical and plumbing design development for projects in all regions
• Ensure compliance with Navy/DoD/U.S. Army/Marine Corps standards
• Collaborate with BIM, architecture, and engineering teams
• Develop design documentation and specifications for construction
• Guide junior engineers and review technical work
