Job summary

RTX is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join the Hardware Engineering Organization in Marlborough, MA. This onsite role requires a Master’s degree in STEM, experience with 3D CAD software, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.

You will design mechanical components for defense systems, participate in design reviews, and support manufacturing and test activities. Travel CONUS may be required; relocation eligible.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in STEM by start date.
• Experience with parametric 3D CAD software to generate 3D models and drawings.
• Mechanical design experience via coursework, projects, or competitions.
• ABET-accredited school and GPA 3.0+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and document mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and major end items.
• Generate and maintain parametric 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings.
• Validate design fit, form, and function through prototyping, testing, and simulations.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, and integration with external suppliers.
• Participate in design peer reviews and resolve technical action items.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to address mechanical hardware issues.
