Job summary

Soundlines Consultancy in the United States seeks a Mechanical BIM Engineer to lead MEP design coordination and BIM execution on building projects. You will develop and review Revit MEP models, perform clash detection, and ensure coordination with architecture, structure, and other disciplines.

The role requires strong experience with BIM standards, technical drawings, and hydraulic calculations, with a focus on delivering accurate models from LOD 300 to LOD 400 for timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• BE / BTech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Experience in building projects, MEP design, and mechanical BIM coordination preferred.
• Proficiency with BIM standards, drawing reviews, and coordination meetings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality shop drawings, coordinated drawings, and as-built documentation for construction and handover.
• Perform design validation, design verification, and drawing reviews with consultants and obtain approvals.
• Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for building projects.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations and simulations for equipment sizing and system performance.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings, reports, equipment schedules, and other design documentation.
• Carry out pipe sizing and hydraulic calculations for plumbing and related systems.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, fire protection, and other MEP disciplines.
• Develop plumbing system models including water supply, drainage, and sanitary layouts.
• Develop and coordinate detailed Mechanical BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
• Develop BIM models from LOD 300 to LOD 400, ensuring accurate spatial coordination and clash-free integration.
• Use Navisworks for clash detection and resolution of design conflicts.
• Ensure designs comply with project specifications, international BIM standards, and applicable engineering codes.
• Review project scope, quantities, schedules, and technical requirements.
• Support productivity and construction operation analysis where required.
• Coordinate project milestones and support timely delivery of design activities.
• Extract BOQ, schedules, and technical data from BIM models to support project planning and execution.
• Work closely with architectural, structural, and MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
• Maintain design quality and coordination standards throughout project development.
