Our client is an established engineering and manufacturing organization that designs and produces mission-critical pneumatic, fluid control, and safety systems used in transportation and industrial applications worldwide. Their products play a vital role in ensuring reliability, performance, and safety in demanding operating environments.
Due to continued growth and increased product development initiatives, our client is seeking two experienced Mechanical Design Engineers to join their engineering team.
This position is ideal for a hands-on engineers who enjoy taking products from concept through production, solving complex mechanical challenges, collaborating with manufacturing teams, and leading product development projects from start to finish. The successful candidates will have strong SolidWorks experience, a background in new product development, and the ability to independently drive projects while working cross-functionally with manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and testing teams.
What You'll Do
- Lead new product development projects from concept through production launch.
- Create innovative and manufacturable mechanical designs using SolidWorks.
- Develop 3D models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Manage project schedules, deliverables, and cross-functional project teams.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and design reviews.
- Drive product validation activities, testing, and continuous design improvements.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot production and assembly issues.
- Support sustaining engineering initiatives and product enhancements.
- Collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure successful project execution.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8+ years of mechanical design and product development experience.
- 8+ years of SolidWorks experience.
- Proven experience leading projects from concept through production.
- Strong background in new product development.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, DFM, DFA, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently manage projects and drive results.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Product validation and testing experience.
- Experience working directly with customers and suppliers.
- Project leadership in cross-functional engineering environments.
- Experience with highly engineered industrial, transportation, rail, aerospace, automotive, defense, fluid handling, valve, or heavy equipment products.
