Job summary

Unknown is seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer to join an established manufacturing organization and take technical leadership in design from concept through production. You will work closely with manufacturing, suppliers, quality, sourcing, and product teams to bring physical products to market.

This hands-on role requires strong mechanical design skills, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency with SolidWorks or Arena.

Qualifications

• Lead design and development of new products from concept to production.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, specs, and tolerance analyses.
• Lead engineering design reviews and make technical decisions throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Apply DFM, DFA, DFMEA, tolerance stack-up, and value engineering.
• Develop and evaluate prototypes, testing plans, and product validation activities.
• Work directly with domestic and international suppliers on tooling, prototypes, production qualification, and manufacturing issues.
• Support pilot builds and first-article inspections and help resolve design/manufacturing challenges.
• Manage engineering changes and documentation through PLM/ECO/ECR processes.
• Lead cross-functional projects involving engineering, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, product management, and supply chain.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
• Present technical recommendations and project updates to leadership.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Design Engineer to join an established manufacturing organization and take a technical leadership role in the design, development, and commercialization of physical products.

This is a hands on engineering role for someone who enjoys taking products from concept through production while working closely with manufacturing, suppliers, quality, sourcing, and product teams.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of mechanical product design and development experience.
• Strong, hands-on experience with SolidWorks, Arena, or similar 3D CAD software.
• Experience taking physical products from design through prototype and production.
• Experience with DFM/DFA, DFMEA, PPAP, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as:
• Stamping
• Machining
• Elastomers
• Mechanical assembly
• Experience working directly with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Ability to manage multiple product development projects and make sound technical decisions.

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following would be a plus:

• Plumbing or building products
• Consumer products
• Manufacturing
• Automotive or other mechanical products
• FEA or rapid prototyping
• PLM/ERP systems
• Lean/Six Sigma
