Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical Construction Technical Services Specialist Lead for our Corpus Christi, TX project. You will lead interpretation of drawings, coordinate with home office engineering, and manage technical issues on-site for data center construction.

This role blends field leadership with document control and change management. You will mentor teams, ensure compliance with standards, and liaise with AHJs and contractors to deliver critical infrastructure in a cutting-edge

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering or 15-20 years in construction management for heavy-industrial facilities including datacenters.
• Understand construction-oriented means, methods, codes, and standards.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, including certified technical training.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and understand Mechanical engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in resolving in-progress issues, discrepancies, or disputes related to drawings and specifications; clarify and expedite responses as needed.
• Liaise with home office engineering, outside firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support interpreting documents and drawings; contribute to change management.
• Engage in the Permitting process with AHJs.
• Work with Design-Build contractors as their efforts move to the field.
• Communicate with subcontractors to manage drawings and documents in revision-controlled manner.
• Lead construction document management process and supervision of a document control lead.
• Provide guidance on specification deviations within approved processes.
• Work with Field Quality, contractor, and Home Office Engineering to resolve NCRs.
