Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical Construction Technical Services Specialist Lead for our Corpus Christi, TX project, with a focus on data center construction. You will lead technical interpretation of drawings, coordinate with home office and client representatives, and guide field teams through complex mechanical challenges.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or 15–20 years in construction management for heavy-industrial facilities including life sciences and datacenters.
• Understanding of construction means, methods, codes, and standards.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent with certified technical training.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership resolving in-progress issues related to drawings and specs; coordinate responses from home office engineers.
• Liaise with home office engineering, outside firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support interpreting engineering documents and change management input.
• Engage in permitting with AHJs and coordinate with Design-Build contractors.
• Lead construction document management and revision-controlled drawing/doc handling.
• Provide guidance through a construction document control lead and ensure effective communication with subcontractors.
• Act as lead for spec deviations within project processes.
• Resolve nonconformities with Field Quality, contractor, and Home Office Engineering.
• Mentor and guide team to meet objectives.
