Job summary

You will perform engineering design evaluations, create prototypes, tooling, and production documentation, and provide guidance to improve quality and reliability.

The role involves hands-on work with factory teams, coordinating with suppliers, and writing manuals, test plans, and test reports to meet government standards (PMA, TSO, DER).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
• 8+ years of engineering experience in mechanical or aerospace fields.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations; PMA’s, DER, CFRs, TSO’s.
• Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Inventor.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise technicians and outside suppliers.
• Hands-on to support production issues with machinery.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop prototypes, material specifications, and production tooling.
• Reviews engineering drawings and evaluates measurement data for tolerances.
• Recommends design changes and manufacturing improvements based on data.
• Substantial hands-on work interfacing with factory employees and suppliers.
• Creation of test plans, conducting tests, and preparing reports to show compliance with standards.
• Preparation of design documentation including drawings, work instructions, and inspection requirements.
• Provide technical support through sales and directly to customers.
• Coordinate with departments and manage work assignments for support personnel.
• Respond to requests from customers and other areas to support efficiency.
