Job summary

Juniors Supermarkets in Pharr, TX is seeking an experienced Meat Cutter II to cut and prepare beef, pork, poultry, and lamb for retail and wholesale customers. You will inspect deliveries, ensure freshness, and maintain high sanitation standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include loading and trimming meat, prepping ground meats and sausages, and operating band saws, grinders, and slicers. Training junior staff and aiding inventory are also possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years meat cutting/processing experience in retail/wholesale.
• Experience with beef, pork, poultry, and lamb.
• Experience operating band saws, grinders and slicers.
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect delivered meat and poultry for quality and freshness.
• Weigh, trim, and cut meat to customer specifications using various cutting techniques.
• Prepare ground meats, sausages, and value-added products per recipes.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area following sanitation guidelines.
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and fulfilling orders.
• Wrap, label, and store products to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
• Operate and maintain meat processing equipment and report issues.
• May train junior staff and assist in inventory of meat products.
• Adhere to company food safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
