Job summary

Eaton’s Electrical sector, Protection Control & Solutions (PCS) group is hiring a Senior Design Engineer based at our Tech Center in Moon Township, PA. Relocation is available within the US, and a hybrid work model (3 onsite/2 remote) is offered.

You will perform product design engineering for MCCB products, focusing on function, performance margins, and design robustness from concept through production. You will collaborate with global teams and support product launches, while ensuring

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical preferred).
Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical design.
Eaton will not sponsor immigration for this role; travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

Lead efforts to compile, study, and reconcile product requirements and standards to design MCCB products.
Identify and prioritize projects to eliminate design and performance issues in new product development.
Develop technical knowledge in circuit breaker design, testing, and applicable standards (UL, IEC, etc.).
Use statistical quality tools to establish performance baselines and focus on improvements.
Perform modelling/simulation on component and system level to ensure robust designs.
Learn Design for Six Sigma, CeTol, GD&T, and phase-gate processes.
Maintain product listings and address third-party testing non-conformances.
Establish control plans and define critical-to-quality characteristics.
Collaborate with marketing, manufacturing, and project management for product launches.
