Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions seeks a senior Systems Engineer to provide full lifecycle systems engineering leadership for unmanned aircraft programs. You will develop requirements, architectures, and MBSE artifacts using Cameo, interface with customers, and lead technical reviews within a distributed team.

Responsibilities include verification planning, model development, documentation, and test planning, with occasional travel to customer sites (<25%). A DoD security clearance or ability to obtain is required.

• Experience developing system requirements, system designs, and verification documentation.
• Leadership experience in Defense/Aerospace on complex programs.
• Experience with MBSE and Cameo.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in dynamic, remotely distributed teams.
• Demonstrated technical leadership capabilities.
• Ownership, urgency, and drive to accomplish results.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, decompose and allocate them to system elements.
• Develop system architectures for new and existing systems.
• Conduct trade studies and research for optimal requirements and architecture.
• Create and maintain system design documentation and interface definitions.
• Develop and execute system verification plans and efforts.
• Develop MBSE processes, templates, and best practices.
• Develop, review, and present Cameo models to stakeholders.
• Lead or support SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR reviews.
• Assist in proposals and presentation materials.
• Perform peer reviews of team members’ work.
• Develop and review test plans/reports.
• Plan and execute HWIL and subsystem/system testing; travel <25%.
