Job summary

Terracon in Bartlett, TN seeks technicians for field and laboratory testing of construction materials including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. You will communicate results to project teams and manage sample transport to the lab.

Responsibilities include data tabulation, reporting, and maintaining equipment; safety and quality are emphasized across projects. Valid driver’s license and relevant certifications highly preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience.
• Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.
• NICET II certification in Construction Materials Testing (Asphalt, Concrete, Soils).
• NICET II Geotechnical certification (Construction, Laboratory, Exploration, Generalist).
• ICC certification in Reinforced Concrete, Structural Steel, etc.
• AWS Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• ASNT Level II (VT/MT/PT/RT/UT).
• ACI Concrete Field/Strength Testing Technician certifications.
• Radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed per procedures.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Performs basic analysis of data before submittal to PM.
• Communicates information to PM and other personnel as directed.
• May train lower level technicians or lead field teams.
• Maintains equipment and calibration; follows safety rules.
• Ensures quality standards on all projects.
