Blue Origin Engines is seeking a experienced Materials & Processes Engineer to develop and qualify materials and processes for our advanced engine program. You will work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing and process engineers to implement specialized materials and ensure manufacturability.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 9+ years of direct experience in materials and processes.
• Experience providing M&P guidance across product lifecycle.
• Working knowledge of steels, stainless steels, Ci-based alloys and copper.
• Experience with joining and joint design for adhesive bonding, welding, brazing, and fastening.

Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify materials and processes for engine applications.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing and process engineers to design, qualify and implement specialized materials.
• Lead material selection and trades for new designs.
• Identify and apply state-of-the-art processes to manufacturing and develop process control documentation and QA measures.
• Develop materials test plans for selected materials and assemblies.
• Own process and repair qualification across the development and production lifecycle.
• Identify and implement improvements for cost and lead time reductions.
