Job summary

RTX in Goleta, CA seeks a Principal Specialist to align material availability with the production schedule and contractual requirements in MRP/Shop Floor Control systems. You will manage procurement, inventory traceability, and collaboration with Engineering for refurbishment and depot activity.

The role requires strong communication skills and experience in manufacturing environments, with a focus on materials planning, supplier coordination, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience with minimum 5 years in related roles.
• An Advanced Degree in a related field with minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience in planning, scheduling, production control, supply chain, manufacturing, or other production-driven environments.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material availability with production schedules and contractual requirements in MRP and Shop Floor Control systems.
• Induct customer and government furnished products into MRP/inventory systems and manage refurbishment/value streams.
• Procure materials via timely purchase requisitions, partner with Supply Chain on material flow, and report progress to leadership.
• Maintain inventory traceability and configuration accountability across repair/modification lifecycle.
• Set production priorities with factory leaders and communicate urgent priorities to IPTs.
• Move materials around campus and assist with production readiness, lifting up to 25 lbs.
• This role is onsite at the Goleta, CA facility.
