Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton, CO, is seeking a Materials Engineer in the EM&P group for the Fleet Ballistic Missile program. You will identify material and process requirements for prototype to flight hardware, implement testing, and ensure life-cycle considerations across suppliers and internal teams.

You will collaborate with designers, component and manufacturing engineers to drive commonality, while addressing program milestones and security requirements for sensitive defense systems.

Qualifications

• Familiar with electronic materials and processes used in printed wiring boards and/or circuit card assemblies.
• Knowledge of IPC standards.
• Experience writing material specifications and test plans.
• Familiar with reading, writing, and reviewing engineering drawings.
• Willingness to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance; US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Select materials and processes on new designs; hands-on manufacturing experience for the next missile.
• Perform materials and processes technical engineering assignments.
• Troubleshoot problems and find innovative solutions.
• Participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of materials and processes.
• Prepare technical and progress reports; prepare specifications; evaluate suppliers; analyze test reports.
• Coordinate with design, manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams.
