Job summary

RTX is seeking a Sr. Materials Engineer to support Global Chemical Substance Operations in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on ensuring product compliance with REACH, RoHS, TSCA and other global directives throughout the lifecycle, coordinating with design and manufacturing teams.

You will evaluate materials, maintain documentation, develop data tools, and manage risks related to regulatory changes and obsolescence, working with suppliers and internal SMEs to identify compliant substitutes.

Qualifications

• Experience with global chemical regulations (REACH, RoHS, TSCA) required.
• Ability to assess material risks, obsolescence, and substitutions.
• Collaborate with design, regulatory, and supply chain teams.
• Develops and maintains compliance documentation and reports.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate materials and processes for regulatory compliance.
• Prepare compliance reports and material declarations.
• Coordinate with design, manufacturing, and suppliers.
• Analyze BOMs against global chemical regs.
• Identify substitutes and manage obsolescence risks.
• Maintain tools and databases for tracking.
• Support international chemical regulations (EU, NAS411-1).
