Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Sr. Materials Engineer (Global Chemical Substances) to ensure compliance of materials and processes with global chemical regulations across the product lifecycle.

You will evaluate materials, manage documentation, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to drive compliant substitutions and data-driven decisions. On-site role with international regulatory focus.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent plus 5 years experience, or Advanced degree with 3 years experience.
• Experience with global chemical regulations (REACH, RoHS, TSCA) and similar standards

Responsibilities

• Evaluate materials and processes for compliance with REACH, RoHS, and global directives.
• Perform material-level compliance assessments during design reviews and production activities.
• Maintain documentation of material compliance per established procedures.
• Develop tools, databases and reporting methods for chemical substance tracking and compliance.
• Identify risks related to obsolescence, restricted substances, and substitutions.
