Job summary

RTX is seeking a Sr. Materials Engineer (Global Chemical Substances) in Tucson, AZ, onsite. You will assess materials and processes for compliance with global chemical regulations, manage documentation, and coordinate with engineering and supply chain teams.

The role emphasizes risk mitigation for obsolescence and substitutions, and requires experience with REACH, RoHS, and TSCA. You will interact with internal teams and external suppliers to gather material composition data, prepare regulatory

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience in global chemical regulations (i.e. REACH (SVHC reporting, Annex XVII), RoHS (material restrictions), TSCA, and similar standards)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate materials, processes, and components for compliance with regulations (REACH, RoHS, etc.).
• Conduct material-level compliance assessments during hardware design reviews and production activities.
• Maintain documentation in accordance with procedures.
• Develop tools and reporting methods for chemical substance tracking and compliance.
• Identify risks related to obsolescence and restricted substances; propose substitutes.
• Coordinate with design, manufacturing, supply chain, and SMEs.
