Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Sr. Materials Engineer (Global Chemical Substances) to support regulatory compliance across REACH, RoHS, TSCA and related global directives throughout product lifecycles.

The role emphasizes evaluating materials, data collection, and coordinating with design, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure material declarations and documentation meet contract requirements. Ideal candidates will have a University Degree (or advanced degree) with 5+ years of experience in

Qualifications

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
Experience in global chemical regulations (i.e. REACH (SVHC reporting, Annex XVII), RoHS (material restrictions), TSCA, and similar standards)

Responsibilities

Evaluate materials to ensure compliance with REACH, RoHS, TSCA and other global directives.
Conduct material-level compliance assessments during hardware design reviews and production activities.
Maintain documentation and verification of material compliance per procedures.
Collaborate with design, manufacturing, supply chain and suppliers to collect material data.
Identify compliant substitutes and manage material obsolescence risks.
Develop tools and databases for chemical substance tracking and reporting.
