Job summary

Trane Technologies in Charlotte seeks a Senior Material Planner to manage raw material and component purchases, ensuring timely delivery to support assembly operations. You will collaborate with procurement, logistics, engineering, and production teams to optimize inventory and mitigate supply risks.

The role requires 3+ years in supply chain planning, exposure to manufacturing processes, and strong communication skills. APICS CPIM is preferred, with ERP system experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, logistics, or purchasing.
• Exposure to manufacturing, quality control, production planning, warehousing, or inventory control.
• APICS CPIM certification preferred.
• Experience with major ERP platforms / manufacturing databases.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (frequent supplier emails)

Responsibilities

• Plan purchased raw materials and components to maintain optimal inventory levels for production.
• Collaborate with procurement, supplier reps, logistics, scheduling, engineering, quality, finance, and assembly teams.
• Analyze supply risks and inventory strategies to mitigate disruptions.
• Forecast material demand using schedules, history, and supplier lead times.
• Expedite, defer, or cancel deliveries and ensure supplier compliance.
• Support inventory management and data accuracy.
• Engage in life-cycle and value-engineering initiatives with suppliers.
• Lead continuous improvement in replenishment and material flow.
• Mentor junior planners and share knowledge.
