Job summary

San Antonio Water System is seeking a Master Electrician to diagnose, install, and maintain high and low voltage electrical systems and telecom infrastructure. You will interpret schematics, document modifications, and ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and local codes.

Responsibilities include estimating projects, performing electrical work on HVAC systems, conducting preventive maintenance, and mentoring junior electricians.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • State of Texas Master Electrician License required.
  • Eight years’ experience as electrician in commercial or industrial electrical work.
  • Valid Texas Class “C” Texas Driver’s License.
  • Confined Space, First Responder, PPE, Lock Out/Tag Out, Fit Testing, retrieval system certifications as required.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, diagnoses and installs electrical systems; tests and repairs circuits, motors and related equipment.
  • Prepares electrical schematic diagrams and documents modifications.
  • Applies NEC, NFPA, OSHA and local electrical codes and safe work practices.
  • Estimates electrical projects including materials and costs.
  • Performs electrical work related to HVAC and related equipment.
  • Conducts preventive and predictive maintenance; manages tools and parts inventory.
  • Reads blueprints and schematics; operates elevated work platforms and maintenance equipment.
  • Trains and mentors other electricians; ensures safe, quality work.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with customers and stakeholders.
