Job summary

San Antonio Water System is seeking a Journey Level Electrician to diagnose, install, maintain and test electrical systems up to 13.4KV and related BMCS equipment. This role requires reading schematics, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with NEC, OSHA and safety practices.

The incumbent will work with pumps, generators, high voltage equipment, and building management systems, with opportunities to advance through training and certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Four years’ electrical experience.
• Texas Journeyman Electrician’s License.
• Valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License.
• Confined Space, HAZMAT Awareness, Lock Out Tag Out, Safety certifications as required.
• Normal visual color discrimination.
• Ability to report to work on time and maintain attendance.
• Position-specific physical testing.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, installs, tests, repairs and maintains electrical equipment for pumps and generators.
• Reads and interprets schematics and documents; maintains BMCS components.
• Maintains inventory of tools, equipment and spare parts.
• Operates bucket trucks and associated electrical maintenance equipment.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with customers and contractors.
