Job summary

San Antonio Water System is seeking a Superintendent - Electrical to oversee the maintenance and operation of electrical systems at Treatment facilities. The role directs staff, plans budgets, and ensures safe, reliable performance of up to 13.2 kV equipment.

Responsibilities include supervision, resource forecasting, coordinating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and contractors, and enforcing safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, Construction Management, Science, Public Administration or related field plus five years of progressive experience with supervisory role; or a High School Diploma/GED plus eight years of progressive experience with supervisory role.
• Texas Driver's License (Class C) required.
• State of Texas Master Electrician license preferred for Electrical treatment operations.

Responsibilities

• Directs and develops electrical staff, including training and performance management.
• Forecasts and allocates human, material and financial resources for the area.
• Plans, monitors, and reports field activities for maintenance of electrical systems.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.
• Reviews plans, blueprints, and electrical drawings and implements improvements as needed.
• Coordinates with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, contractors, vendors, and other groups.
