Job summary

Avalara's Marketing Technology team seeks a senior engineer to own the backbone that turns every lead into a routed, enriched record, including intake, validation, enrichment, and routing services. You will shape architecture across AWS, influence design reviews, and drive runway planning beyond a single product team.

You will design scalable data models, integrate Salesforce and Marketo, and ensure secure, observable infrastructure with Terraform and serverless AWS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years engineering in MarTech/enterprise systems with hands-on AWS serverless and Terraform/IaC.
• Proven database design across DynamoDB and analytics models in Snowflake; strong SQL.
• Integration depth with Salesforce, Marketo, and identity/consent-aware data flows; resilient API patterns.

Responsibilities

• Build and harden AWS serverless services (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS/SNS).
• Design and evolve data models in DynamoDB and Snowflake; tune conversion-tracking flows across Google, Floodlight, and ad platforms.
• Own high-throughput pipelines (validation, enrichment, dedupe, reprocessing) and operational SLIs/SLOs.
• Write Terraform, AWS infrastructure code and monitoring/alerting; ensure security and observability.
