Job summary

Elliott Bay Design Group is seeking a Marine Engineer to help develop innovative vessels and practical engineering solutions for clients across the United States. A mechanical engineering degree and passion for solving complex design challenges are essential, with naval architecture or marine structures experience a valuable plus.

The role covers system design and integration, analysis and troubleshooting, project execution, and compliance with CFRs, IMO, ABS, DNV, and other standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from ABET accredited curriculum.
• Experience in maritime/mechanical design and shipyard operations is preferred.
• EIT certification; PE license preferred or pursuing licensure.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and integrate mechanical systems for marine vessels.
• Support 2D and 3D vessel design processes.
• Ensure compliance with CFRs, IMO, ABS, DNV, IEC, SOLAS.
• Prepare project documentation including specifications and calculations.
• Review details and provide comments on shipyard contractor designs.
• Conduct inspections to ensure regulatory and safety compliance.
