Job summary

Elliott Bay Design Group LLC is seeking a Naval Architect to join our collaborative team and help develop innovative vessels and practical engineering solutions for clients across the United States. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in naval architecture and a passion for solving complex design challenges.

Experience in marine mechanical, structural engineering, or related discipline is a plus.

Qualifications

ABET‑accredited B.S. in Naval Architecture or related field.
PE license preferred.
Minimum four years in maritime/naval architecture and marine engineering support.
Knowledge of marine construction, ship repair and regulatory frameworks.
Proficiency with Rhino, AutoCAD, MS Office; scripting in Python/Grasshopper.

Responsibilities

Develop/refine vessel arrangements, hull forms, structural designs and stability analyses.
Perform incline tests and deadweight surveys; prepare stability documentation.
Ensure designs comply with CFRs, IMO, ABS/DNV class rules, IEC, SOLAS.
Support design for new vessels and refurbishments; review contractor designs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate engineering systems.
Prepare specifications, schematics, reports, and progress updates.
Attend inspections and verify compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
