RLI Insurance Company in New York seeks an experienced attorney/claims professional to proactively handle bodily injury liability claims, including marine exposure, and to assess coverage issues and documentation.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 10+ years in claims or litigation, and a J.D. is preferred. You will investigate, reserve, and pursue risk transfer while maintaining RLI's Best Practices. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years in a similar claims role or as an attorney.
• J.D. preferred.
• Experience handling bodily injury liability claims with marine exposure.
• Superior writing and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of case law, statutes, and procedures affecting claims value.

Responsabilités

• Proactively handle bodily injury claims, resolve fairly and expeditiously.
• Assess and analyze coverage issues and issue letters/documentation.
• Conduct timely investigations and set appropriate reserves.
• Pursue risk transfer opportunities, indemnity, and insured additions.
• Handle claims in line with RLI's Best Practices.
• Resolve claims toward effective outcomes.
• Travel for mediations, settlements, and trials as needed.
