Job summary

RLI Insurance Company in Bala Cynwyd, PA seeks an experienced Senior Claims Attorney to lead bodily injury liability claims, including marine coverage, and to support litigation matters with a strong emphasis on fair, expeditious resolutions.

You will assess coverage, manage investigations, and collaborate with underwriters, insureds, and leaders to uphold RLI’s Best Practices and robust Total Rewards program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years of experience in a similar position directly handling claims and/or as an attorney with experience in litigation.
• J.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively handle liability claims, primarily involving bodily injury in a marine liability context, to achieve optimum payout results by resolving claims fairly, expeditiously, and economically.
• Assess and analyze coverage issues on claims, and issue appropriate coverage letters and documentation.
• Complete timely investigation of claims and post appropriate reserves.
• Pursue risk transfer opportunities, including addressing contractual indemnity and additional insured issues.
• Handle claims in accordance with RLI's Best Practices.
• Resolve claims in timely manner to an effective outcome.
• Travel to and attend mediations, settlement conferences, and/or trials as warranted.
