Job summary

RLI Insurance Company in Atlanta is seeking an experienced liability claims professional with a strong background in bodily injury within marine liability coverage. The role emphasizes proactive investigation, coverage analysis, and effective claim resolution.

The position offers a base pay range of $142,828.00 – $208,171.00 with a robust Total Rewards package, including ESOP, bonus plans, and comprehensive benefits. Hybrid work arrangements are available to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree plus 10+ years of experience in a similar position directly handling claims and/or as an attorney with experience in litigation.
• J.D. preferred.
• Meaningful experience handling bodily injury liability claims with significant exposure under marine liability policies.

Responsibilities

• Proactively handle liability claims, primarily involving bodily injury in a marine liability context, to achieve optimum payout results by resolving claims fairly, expeditiously, and economically.
• Assess and analyze coverage issues on claims, and issue appropriate coverage letters and documentation.
• Complete timely investigation of claims and post appropriate reserves.
• Pursue risk transfer opportunities, including addressing contractual indemnity and additional insured issues.
• Handle claims in accordance with RLI's Best Practices.
• Resolve claims in timely manner to an effective outcome.
• Travel to and attend mediations, settlement conferences, and/or trials as warranted.
