Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree plus 10+ years of experience in a similar position directly handling claims and/or as an attorney with experience in litigation.
• J.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively handle liability claims, primarily involving bodily injury in a marine liability context, to achieve optimum payout.
• Assess and analyze coverage issues on claims, issuing appropriate coverage letters.
• Complete timely investigation of claims and post appropriate reserves.
• Pursue risk transfer opportunities, including indemnity and additional insured issues.
• Handle claims in accordance with RLI's Best Practices.
• Resolve claims in timely manner to an effective outcome.
• Travel to and attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials when warranted.
