Job summary

Serco Inc. seeks a Senior Marine Engineer to lead design and analysis of ships, craft, and floating structures for US Navy and commercial programs. This role is based in our US offices and involves coordinating with marine engineering and other disciplines to establish system characteristics and design features.

You will guide concept studies, validate design requirements, and prepare technical reports and presentations. Travel up to 10% and ability to obtain a secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor degree from an ABET accredited university in Marine Engineering or related field.
• 10 years of related Marine Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of engineering science applications to marine craft design and production.
• Familiarity with government contracting environments and technical services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and obtain a secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform design or review of auxiliary, fluid, mechanical, engine, and propulsion systems.
• Apply marine engineering knowledge per regulations and standards to develop analyses and products.
• Lead design integrations with naval architecture and other disciplines.
