Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Maritime Engineering Operation (MEO) in Arlington, VA, supporting ship and ship systems design for Navy and commercial customers. A DoD Secret clearance is required, along with U.S.

citizenship and a strong background in marine electrical systems. You will lead electrical design from concept through construction, prepare schematics and load analyses, and collaborate with mechanical, naval, and software teams.

Qualifications

DoD Secret security clearance is required.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
10+ years in marine electrical design.
Ability to obtain DoD clearance.
Experience with IEC, IEEE, SOLAS, 46 CFR, ABS, Lloyd’s Register.
Ability to travel 10%.

Responsibilities

Lead design and specification of marine electrical systems from concept to construction.
Produce and review electrical design documentation (SLDs, schematics, load analyses).
Provide project cost and schedule estimates.
Ensure compliance with marine and offshore standards.
Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and sea trials.
Mentor junior engineers.
Interface with clients, shipyards, vendors, and classification societies.
Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout project lifecycle.
