The candidate must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret clearance and hold a U.S. citizenship, with 10+ years in marine electrical design. Arlington-based role with travel and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in marine electrical design and systems.
• Experience with electrical drawings, distribution systems, and supervisory control systems.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office, MATLAB, Simulink, and PLC programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and specification of marine electrical systems from concept to construction.
• Produce and review electrical design documentation (SLDs, schematics, load analyses, cable schedules).
• Provide project cost and schedule estimates.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s Register etc.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning and sea trials.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with mechanical/naval/software teams.
• Interface with clients, shipyards, vendors, and classification societies.
