Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Maritime Engineering Operation.

You will design marine electrical systems, develop documentation, and ensure compliance with naval standards while working with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality solutions for military and commercial customers. You will collaborate with customers, shipyards, and vendors, providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers, with readiness to travel and uphold health, safety, and

Qualifications

Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical or marine engineering or related field.
10+ years of marine electrical systems design experience.

Responsibilities

Lead design and specification of marine electrical systems from concept to construction.
Produce/ review single-line diagrams, schematics, load analyses, cable schedules, and equipment specs.
Provide project cost and schedule estimates.
Ensure compliance with marine/offshore standards and class rules (IEC, IEEE, DNV, ABS, LR).
Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and sea trials.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with mechanical/naval software teams.
Interface with clients, shipyards, vendors, and classification societies.
Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout lifecycle.
Travel ~10% for shipchecks and reviews.
