Job summary

Serco Inc. in Arlington, VA seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead marine electrical system design, from concept through construction, including power distribution, automation, and control systems. You will prepare SLDs, schematics, and load analyses while ensuring compliance with IEC, IEEE, and SOLAS standards.

Travel may be required to shipyards and client reviews. You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support FAT, SAT, and sea trials to deliver

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required for DoD clearance eligibility.
• 10+ years designing marine electrical systems with PE experience.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and industry regs.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and specification of marine electrical systems from concept to construction.
• Produce electrical design docs: single-line diagrams, schematics, load analyses.
• Provide project cost and schedule estimates.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s Register and SOLAS.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and sea trials; mentor junior engineers.
• Interface with clients, shipyards, vendors; manage technical risk.
