Job summary

Axcelis Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Test Development Engineer II to design, develop, and optimize advanced electrical and mechanical manufacturing test solutions, including automated test equipment and fixtures.

You will lead validation, debug complex test systems, analyze data for trends, and define strategies with cross-functional teams to ensure production readiness. The role requires a BS in engineering and 8+ years of related experience, with strong CAD, instrumentation,

Qualifications

• BS in electrical/ mechanical/ computer/ manufacturing engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience in test development or manufacturing.
• Proficiency with CAD and lab instrumentation; strong debugging skills.
• Experience with automated test systems and fixtures; data analysis with Excel/Python/MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize advanced test solutions and fixtures.
• Lead validation and qualification of test systems for production.
• Debug test equipment, instrumentation interfaces, and PCB hardware.
• Analyze test data to identify trends and process improvements.
• Define test strategies with cross-functional teams.
• Improve test coverage, efficiency, and reliability.
• Support new product introduction of test solutions and DFT.
• Create technical documentation and reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage projects.
