Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Technician to lead hands‑on manufacturing in a development facility, overseeing assembly, material prep, kitting, and operations. You will mentor junior technicians while applying expertise across mechanical, electrical, wiring, and machining tasks on an early‑phase program.

The role requires reading diagrams, strong tool skills, and leadership to guide cross‑discipline work on the shop floor with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands‑on manufacturing, fabrication, or related trades.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and shop equipment.
• Ability to lead tasks across multiple production areas and mentor juniors.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical assembly, sub‑assembly builds, and hardware prep.
• Perform electrical wiring tasks per wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Oversee material preparation, kitting, and inventory control.
• Execute manufacturing operations including deburring, cleaning, and torquing.
• Coordinate setup of work cells and equipment installation activities.
• Identify and resolve quality or safety issues on the shop floor.
• Mentor and train junior technicians on tools and processes.
