Job summary

Direct Start is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to plan and execute customer and internal manufacturing projects from start to finish. This role blends hands-on manufacturing knowledge with project management to deliver on time and within budget.

You will collaborate with customers, engineering, and operations to drive results, lead kick-off meetings, reviews, and ensure successful product shipments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience and PM experience
• Knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes
• Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Excel
• Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple concurrent projects simultaneously
• Develop project plans, schedules, cost quotations, and manufacturing routings
• Act as primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external customers
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and assembly teams to meet project scope, timeline, and cost targets
• Lead project kick-off meetings and regular status reviews
• Coordinate customer testing, approvals, and product shipments
• Create and manage project budgets throughout the full project lifecycle
• Identify and resolve project risks, schedule conflicts, and manufacturing challenges
• Complete job closing process including P&L analysis and project post-mortems
