Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a Boeing subsidiary, is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the planning, development and control of the operations business areas in alignment with contract schedules, specifications, and cost targets.

Lead a culture of teamwork and accountability, drive lean practices, and ensure effective labor relations and performance management. This role emphasizes safety, collaboration with HR, customers, and suppliers, and continuous improvement of processes and delivery.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Citizenship.
• Minimum 6+ years in a manufacturing/operations management role.
• Experience interfacing with customers and suppliers at all levels.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge with experience driving improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, development and control of operations to meet contracts, schedules, specs and cost targets.
• Ensure measurement, control systems and performance metrics drive objectives.
• Promote teamwork, accountability and customer focus within the operations team.
• Plan and monitor utilization of resources to achieve programs and performance.
• Support lean initiatives to improve quality, cost and delivery.
• Motivate and develop staff and manage performance aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate with HR on labor relations and succession planning.
• Provide direction using performance management processes.
• Maintain safety, health, and environment plans across the facility.
• Communicate effectively with employees, labor representatives, customers and suppliers.
• Interact with external customers and suppliers to support strategic intent.
• Recruit, retain and develop talent in line with organizational goals.
