Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, defends and advances the defense and space mission. This role leads the Operations Team, driving planning, scheduling, cost targets and lean practices across contracts with customers and suppliers.

You will develop staff, manage performance, and ensure safety, health and environment plans are in place while collaborating with HR for labor relations. Requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • 6+ years of experience in a management role in a manufacturing/operations environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers and suppliers.
  • Effective planning, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge and experience.
  • Leadership with financial and business acumen.
  • Union environment experience or adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, development, and control of the operations business areas to meet contracts, schedules, specifications, and cost targets.
  • Implement measurements and controls to drive operational objectives.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and customer focus.
  • Plan, monitor, and control utilization of human and material resources to achieve programs.
  • Promote lean enterprise for agility in quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Motivate and develop staff and manage performance aligned with business goals.
  • Work with HR to maintain productive labor relations.
  • Provide direction and performance management within the Operations Team.
  • Ensure safety, health and environment plans are implemented.
  • Communicate with employees, unions, customers and suppliers on issues.
  • Interact with customers and suppliers to build constructive relations.
  • Implement succession planning and recruitment strategies.
  • Own day-to-day performance, quality, delivery, and budget of the team.
