Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. is seeking a Lean / Process Improvement professional within its Spirit Defense unit. The role focuses on applying Lean principles, coaching cross-functional teams, and driving Kaizen events to improve shop performance and cost savings.

The candidate will gather requirements, analyze current processes, and develop strategic Lean plans with measurable outcomes. You will work with internal customers to establish scope, collect metrics, and mentor teams in tools such as VSM,

Qualifications

• 5 years of related work experience.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Lean Manufacturing experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with executive leaders.
• Ability to manage with influence and provide leadership throughout multiple teams simultaneously.
• Proven ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
• Cross-functional coordination and leadership to achieve project goals.
• SAP, ERP,MRP, and EXRP experience.
• Risk assessment and mitigation experience.
• Demonstrated ability to foster business partnerships with internal customers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide awareness, knowledge, guidance, and the application of Lean principles to support Lean culture.
• Gather customer requirements.
• Evaluate the current situation.
• Determine boundaries or scope of the project.
• Perform analysis of existing processes.
• Collect supporting performance metrics.
• Document the process.
• Develop a Lean Strategy/Plan for improvement.
• Select Lean Tools and/or Lean Training to support the plan.
• Coach, train and mentor cross-functional teams in proper Lean tool usage.
• Engage workforce to implement Kaizen events.
• Implement the Lean Strategy/Plan to meet customer expectations.
• Document accomplishments.
• Facilitate Continuous Improvement for cost savings.
• Perform trend analysis of shop performance metrics to identify opportunities.
