Job summary

Pratt Internal Career Site is seeking a Controller to oversee the entire accounting operation in Michigan. The role focuses on financial reporting and budgeting, with responsibility for payroll staff and internal controls.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of experience managing a financial/accounting department, experience in manufacturing, and CPA preferred. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential to ensure accuracy and compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree with focus on accounting/finance.
• Five to 10 years managing financial/accounting department.
• Three years experience in manufacturing related environment.
• Proven ability to analyze financial statements and identify potential problems.
• CPA preferred.
• Experience in the corrugated industry.
• Experience in cash management.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall accounting operation including financial reports and budget.
• Manage and evaluate accounting staff (including payroll administrator) and ensure proper training and motivation.
• Review all journal entries for financial statements.
• Analyze financial statements and prepare special reports.
• Review accounts payables and receivables for accuracy.
• Evaluate credit applications and oversee collection efforts.
• Ensure compliance with periodic financial audits.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
