Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Manufacturing/Execution Engineer to lead development, launch, and optimization of processes in General Assembly and Final Assembly areas. You will implement automation, tooling, and equipment to support new vehicle programs and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will collaborate across engineering, operations, quality, maintenance, and supply chain to resolve challenges, manage risks, and ensure on-time program execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent required.
• 10 years manufacturing/engineering experience with 3 years launch experience required.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays as required.
• Ability to travel up to 75%, which can be extensive during product launches.
• Deep technical knowledge in process engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing engineering activities for General Assembly/Final Assembly zones supporting launches and production operations.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, automation systems, equipment, tooling, conveyors, and workstation designs.
• Manage equipment and tooling projects from concept through procurement, installation, validation, and production launch.
• Serve as primary engineering contact for assigned areas to achieve launch milestones and program timelines.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and suppliers to resolve challenges and drive program execution.
• Provide technical leadership to equipment suppliers and integrators through design, build, installation, and commissioning.
• Support build events, launch activities, process validation, PFMEA development, and issue resolutions for readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement focusing on safety, quality, productivity, ergonomics, material flow, and cost reduction.
• Travel internationally & domestic about 70-75%.
