Job summary

General Motors LLC is seeking a Senior Execution Engineer – Material Flow & Robotics Deployment to lead advanced automation deployment across GM manufacturing environments. You will work with AMD Solutions Teams, plant engineers, and suppliers to deploy AMRs, AFTs, ASRS, and sequencing systems, driving efficiency and reducing waste.

The role requires strong technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration from concept through launch, and hands-on experience with simulation, layout

Qualifications

• 5+ years in automotive manufacturing, automation deployment or related field.
• Hands-on experience deploying automation technologies like AMRs, AFTs, ASRS.
• Experience with labor analysis to quantify automation impact on material movement.
• Experience with layout optimization and simulation tools to improve material flow paths.
• Knowledge of PLC programming and industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
• Ability to develop PMP/PCP plans and manage project documentation (JES/TIS revisions, ULOC/DLOC, CMA).
• Strong analytical skills with ROI modeling for automation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment of automation technologies (AMRs, AFTs, ASRS, kitting/sequencing) across manufacturing operations.
• Identify and evaluate automation opportunities to improve efficiency and material flow.
• Conduct labor studies and quantify automation impact.
• Define unit counts, routes, and commodity flow requirements across plants.
• Support layout reviews and process optimization through simulation and data analysis.
• Collaborate with simulation teams from project purchase to launch.
• Develop future-state material flow strategies and roadmaps.
