Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a research and development engineer to support analysis of solid rocket motor production materials. The role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining lab equipment for experiments transitioning toward manufacturing, with room for growth into other areas.

The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years in a manufacturing environment, familiarity with lab instrumentation, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and detailed data documentation.

Qualifications

• 2-year engineering degree or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of related manufacturing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with safe engineering practices and hazardous materials handling.
• Ability to read, assess and follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Install, upkeep and manage experimental and analytical hardware/instrumentation with the team.
• Assist in building hardware and data acquisition for new experiments.
• Contribute to establishing experimental procedures and collect quality data.
• Participate in analysis meetings and communicate anomalies affecting development.
• Maintain detailed lab records and adhere to data governance standards.
