Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the Manufacturing Engineering SME for BE-7 and Blue Thrusters. You will drive manufacturing standards, enable rapid transition to production, and lead automation initiatives across programs.

You will need hands-on propulsion hardware experience, strong DFM judgment, and the ability to mentor engineers while delivering rapid, first-principles problem solving in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Materials Science Engineering.
8+ years manufacturing engineering experience in production or development-to-production.
5+ years authoring work instructions and managing manufacturing BOMs.
Hands-on experience manufacturing propulsion or aerospace hardware.
Ability to provide assertive DFM feedback to design engineers.

Responsibilities

Lead cross-program ME activities across BE-7 and Blue Thrusters value streams.
Define and enforce manufacturing best practices; mentor MEs.
Drive DFM/DFA reviews and producibility improvements to reduce cost and cycle time.
Lead production readiness for qualification and transition to production.
Develop NPIs for Blue Thrusters and scalable manufacturing processes.
Oversee automation strategy and AI-enabled tooling.
Root-cause analysis for non-conformances and corrective actions.
