Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a Dublin, VA contract role. You will lead process trials, provide hands-on shop-floor support, and drive Lean improvements to safety, quality, and efficiency. Collaboration with Engineering and Materials teams will optimize production and manpower planning.

The role emphasizes time studies, line balancing, and standardizing methods across a high-volume facility, with mentorship of fellow engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (Path A) or related, as described.
• Minimum 4 years manufacturing experience with engineering focus or 8 years with an associate degree.
• Experience with time studies and line balancing to set production standards.
• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to lead and mentor other engineers on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Lead new process trials to validate manufacturability and stability.
• Provide on-site engineering support to maintain efficient operations.
• Establish optimal production methods, standards, tooling, and equipment.
• Drive safety, ergonomics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize material flow and layout.
• Coordinate product launches and engineering changes with manpower planning.
• Conduct time studies and line balancing to ensure efficient resource use.
• Document process improvements and standardize new methods.
