Job summary

Valmont Industries in Houston seeks a Plant Engineer to lead site continuous improvement projects, from design to implementation, with guidance to maintenance teams. You will develop documentation, standard work, and procedures while driving lean initiatives to improve productivity and quality on the plant floor.

Requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, strong communication, and 5+ years in manufacturing/industrial engineering. Travel up to 10% and proficiency with AutoCAD/SolidWorks are preferred.

Qualifications

• ,Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Strong communication skills to present to management.
• Experience with Lean and continuous improvement.
• Ability to analyze, weigh alternatives and implement solutions.
• 5+ years in manufacturing/industrial engineering preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD/SolidWorks a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for manufacturing activities: plant layout, process mapping, calculations, and maintenance projects.
• Conduct asset investigations and justify new equipment or processes.
• Prepare capital appropriation requests for equipment.
• Lead Lean projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish work instructions for production processes.
• Improve productivity, efficiency and quality through initiatives.
• Initiate and manage projects with schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate material handling methods for finished/raw materials.
• Develop data reports to measure manufacturing performance.
• Stay updated on manufacturing process technologies.
