Job summary

VEIR is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Woburn, MA to own manufacturing strategy for the termination assembly. You will identify and onboard a contract manufacturer, optimize manufacturability, and build quality and test infrastructure to scale from pilot builds to full production.

This hands-on role spans design engineering, supplier development, and quality systems, with a strong track record in CM for high‑power electromechanical assemblies.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with contract manufacturers for complex electromechanical or high‑power assemblies.
• Strong background in DFM/DFA for high‑power systems (busbars, connectors, terminations, cables).
• Experience developing incoming inspection and final test/qualification plans.
• Track record leading pilot builds and scaling designs to CM production.
• Knowledge of GD&T, root-cause analysis, and process-control methods.
• Experience chairing MRB dispositions and driving CAPA/8D investigations.

Responsibilities

• Identify and onboard a CM capable of producing the termination assembly at required cost and quality.
• Collaborate with CM and internal teams to optimize manufacturability, cost, and lead time (DFM/DFA).
• Define and implement quality strategy, including incoming inspection and finished-assembly tests.
• Establish in-process inspection plans and audit CM records and capabilities.
• Develop high-power test protocols (dielectric/hi-pot, torque, thermal cycling, contact resistance).
• Lead pilot builds, drive root-cause resolution, and feed learnings into design and work instructions.
• Build production process plan with routers, fixturing, and tooling strategy.
• Drive continuous improvement toward lower cost, shorter lead time, and higher quality.
• Manage CM relationship: capability assessments, quotes, capacity, and escalation.
• Interface with supply chain to qualify critical components and raw materials.
• Create and maintain BOMs, process flows, inspection plans, and CAPA workflows.
• Own non-conformance loop with CM: MRB dispositions and CAPA closure.
